Epcot Food & Wine Part 2!

Here’s my recap of last Saturday at Epcot Food & Wine Festival! Yep, I went again!

Te & I decided to become Annual Passholders at Disney. I mean we’re Florida residents and just happen to have friends that are also pass holders! Going back a second time around Epcot meant that I got to eat and drink whatever I had missed the first time. Having the company of a large amount of your friends made the experience definitely more fun, less eating and more drinking. We also were celebrating Steven & Leanna’s birthdays!

Being that it’s a Saturday, there were a whole bunch of people still, I think I heard over 17,000 humans were in Epcot alone. THAT’S CRAZY! What’s crazier was that I had a 4 pm – 4 am shift, which meant I only got 1-2 hours of sleep at the house, and an hour sleep in the car while my cousin, James, drove us to Orlando. After meeting up where all of our friends are, my friends and I went left to hit up New ZealandAustralia and Mexico first. At New Zealand, I ordered the Seared venison loin with wild mushroom marsala sauce and kumara dumpling. It was unimpressionable, but the mushroom marsala sauce was commendable. In Australia, we shared the grilled sweet and spicy bush berry shrimp with pineapple, peppers, onions, and snap peas and the grilled lamb chop with mint pesto and potato crunch. I loved the flavors in the shrimp, which had a little kick to it. The mint peso in the lamb chop was interesting and exciting. What a combination of flavors that I’ve never dreamed of trying before.

At Mexico, there was a huge line to get the Tequila flight and other fiesta liquids. Some of us went on the ride in Mexico, which reminded me of It’s-A-Small-World (both childish and creepy), but necessary if you want to cool off. Te and James got the Tequila flight (which is 3 shots of different tequilas — crazy.) and everyone else shared a shot and got a margarita. I had the Horchata margarita, which was hard for me to finish. The shot and the margarita got to my brain too quick and so I rushed to Africa to get more sustainable carbs to absorb all this liquor.

Of course in Africa, we had to have the buttered chicken, which I already tried last month that I was there. It was still delicious and still one of my favorite food at this festival.

While in Africa, James went to Japan and got most of us the Japanese head bands!

We made a stop in South Korea! We got the Korean Barbecue Short Rib with Steamed Rice and Cucumber Kimchi and Roasted pork lettuce wrap with kimchi slaw. I enjoyed the wrap a lot! I think that the short rib was good, but I’ve definitely had better (Yay more carbs!)

Up next was Germany! I ordered the Schinkennudeln: Pasta gratin with ham and cheese, which was delicious! It’s like a heavenly mac-&-cheese! We also got the apple strudel (never got a chance to taste it.. thanks James) and the German Brewer’s Collection Bier Flight. The Schöfferhofer Zitrone Weizen-Mix or #4 was definitely a great choice to beat the Florida heat which was too much for a season that’s supposed to be cool.

To cool down some more, I went and grabbed a Frozen Strawberry-Lemon Sunset: Frozen Strawberry and lemon, topped with Grey Goose Vodka at the American Adventure Cart. Definitely my type of drink.

We definitely had a blast dancing in Morocco! Night time rolled in pretty fast and before you know it we’re more than half-way around the world and we landed in France (which is definitely the best country that carried the best food and drinks). I ordered the Boeuf bourguignon: Braised short ribs in cabernet with mashed potatoes and the Crème brûlée vanille chocolat. We also had the La Passion Martini Slush: vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron, cranberry and passion fruit juice, which tasted like a frozen jolly-rancher. THIS IS A MUST GET.

Everyone is getting tired at this point. To which I found myself power napping on the floor with Te in front of Canada. After a 5 minute nap with the ducks…. Te got me the adult hot chocolate at the Showcase Coffee Cart, which was a Frozen Chai Latte with or Bailey’s topped with cinnamon and whipped cream! This was also amazing and a must have, especially that you want to start winding down.

We finished our night by having a few more bites in Greece and Sustainable Chew. We all also rode TestTrack (best interactive ride ever!) and watched a little bit of the fireworks show. Overall it was a great Saturday at Epcot with friends.
